Throughout our lives we are taught to “WORK HARD” to get what we want out of life. Now part of that is true, life does take “hard” work in the form of moves and diligence, however it all begins with out relationship with Christ. If you have no relationship then what are you ultimately working for? Worldly possessions that will eventually give out on you, rust, break down …. when you could be putting that same attitude and drive into a relationship with the most high, and in the end you will not only have the peace and joy daily with knowing who you serve, but you will have the eternal life in heaven with our Lord and Savior.
This sounds simply right? Well in truth it is, having a relationship with the Lord is simple, and worth it. But this world and the enemy roaming around in it, makes it seem like an impossible task, do you often think. ” I am so busy, I will wait until tomorrow to read my word.” So what makes us so “BUSY?”
Our job? Many times we run around for a “boss” (even if the boss is ourselves), yet we wont sit for a moment and read the work God gave us. What if when you got a new job, one you had never performed before, the company gave you a step by step instructions to how to be successful, how to get ahead, inside secrets, even future events to look out for. They told you of enemies to look out for, and how to out smart them. Would you read this book? “YES” right? Because no one starts a job without knowing a job descriptions, and what is expected of them … right!! So why would we not take time to read the manual God wrote for us, it reveals what is necessary to reach heaven, what he expects of us, how he rewards us, how to be forgiven when we make mistakes, what the enemy is after and even what he may use against you. He tells us of what is to come, so we can tell others and be prepared ourselves. So why do we push off bible study, church… Why is it so simple to allow ourselves to be separated from the only one who wants to see us happy every single day, no change.
Our Family? Many of us women (and some men) work all day and have a demanding family to take care of. So we rush home from our job, to fix dinner, help with homework and clean up. By the end we are tired and ready to drop … so we say “Lord, tomorrow I will read, tomorrow I will start that outreach, tomorrow I will ….. Yet when we lay down we pray for safety for our families … what if God said “tomorrow I will …” But he doesn’t ..
God wants you to have all that, but he wants time with you too.
“Work willingly at whatever you do, as though you were working for the Lord rather than for people. Remember that the Lord will give you an inheritance as your reward, and that the Master you are serving is Christ.”
Colossians 3:23-24
Remember the first step to becoming successful in life is to first seek the Lord, developing a strong, personal relationship with HIM, and allowing him to work in our lives. In the beginning of any business its not a snap of the finger type situation, its truly a growing pain situation. We must let go of old ways, and develop new ones. We must move and act with differently (not better, just different, because we are no longer of the world).
